If you go through it provience-wise there are 39 in North (22 in Vraj itself) in South 18, in East 4, in West 20 and in Central India 3. Of these 84 Baithakjies we have only 63 in existance 21 of them are still not openly declared so far. i.e., they are still hidden in unknown places of these 21, the Baithakji of Sri Trilokabhanji in South, no one knows where it is.
Of the apparent Baithakjies, proper facilities for seva and other things are available in only 15. 20 of these Baithakjies have facilities of medium type only. The rest do not have any amenities worthy of mentioning. The same detoriating conditions prevail in other Baithakjies of other important persons.
Of the many Baithakjies situated in Vraj, there is a lot of derth of availability of facilities. And in many other places Baithakjies are used as centres of commerce, which is a matter of shame for us and regrettable.
Baithakjies are run on contract. Those Vaishnavas who approach these Baithakjies with lot of sentimental attachment are harrassed by these contractors. As a result Vaishnavas do not receive full pleasure in the seva they offer and get joy in remember Sri Mahaprabhuji.
From the book "Baithakji Charitra" we come to know that there are 84 Baithakjies of Sri Maharpabhuji. But when we look at the facts we will learn that Sri Mahaprabhuji had stayed in more then 84 places, where he had recited Bhagvata, Veda, and Ramayana. These parayana (religious readings of puranas etc.) were regular features in his life. We give as an illustration the name of the famous Baithakji in the village of Kavi, in the district of Vadodara, in Gujarat. According to "Sri Vallabha Digvijaya", Sri Mahaprabhuji had stayed at this Kapilakshetra and recited Vedas and discussed "Sastrachar" with local pandits. This places is very small but very attractive. here most ordinary seva system is observed. But this place does not find its name in the list of 84 Baithakjies.
You will come across a place called Jambusar (in olden days it was known as "Bhanukshetra") in the district of Vadodara. Again "Sri Vallabha Digvijaya" mentioned about Sri Mahaprabhuji's stay in this place and about his "Bhagvata Parayana " there. Those divine vaishnavas who visited this place have some kind of rare spiritual experiences and believe that there should be his Baithakji somewhere in this place.
There is no mention about the existance of a Baithakji in Dabha in "Baithak Charitra". dakore area was known as "Danka kshetra" in those days. Sri Mahaprabhuji stayed there and did "Bhagvata Parayana" but the Baithakji in Dakore is now known as the Baithakji of Sri Hari Raiji and you will find a mention in Baithak charitra to this effect. In our opinion there should be a Baithakji of Sri Mahaprabhuji somewhere here. Thus we find proof of existance of Baithakjies of Sri Mahaprabhuji in both Dabha and Dakore. So there may be many other places where his Baithaks might have been established. If we can get a hand over the matter we will find that there can be more than 84 Baithakjies in India. |
